Stephanie Weeks started rearranging rooms as a child.
She shared a room with her sister until she was 12 years old until her brother moved out to go to college. Before her brother was even out of the driveway, she was
moving into his room. With white walls and a boy’s bunk bed, Stephanie didn’t have much to work with. She painted the room by herself in a beautiful peach color (it was the eighties after all!). Next, she disassembled the bunk beds arranged them into an “L shape” so that her friends would have a comfortable lounge when they came over to visit. While many preteens were at the mall, Stephanie was dreaming of what she could do with her room. Many times her mom would pop her head into Stephanie’s room and it would be rearranged AGAIN or she would have a different wall color. In 1981, an interior redesigner (and an obsession) was born!
Her mother was an artist and appreciated her creative talent and eye for color. Her dad was an accountant and appreciated her frugality and business sense. Combining the two she graduated from college with a degree in Marketing (Business with creative mindset). She worked for a real estate company doing marketing and training. This innovative company staged vacant apartments and had some of the most beautiful model apartment homes in the country before this was even a popular trend on HGTV.Upon selling her first home with her husband, Stephanie staged her home for sale and received 4 offers in a 24 hour period which was unheard of in that neighborhood. It sold quickly for over asking price. In 1998, a stager was born!
With her love of fabrics she worked for a home décor fabric company and helped clients design their rooms. The process of picking of fabrics was so hard for people, but came easily to Stephanie and increased her desire to help people with every aspect of decorating. In 2004, Stephanie went into business for herself and created Redesign Your Décor- Interior Redesign and Home Staging. Stephanie believes most people enjoy purchasing items for their home. It’s where you put these items when you bring them home that make all the difference in the world.Redesign Your Décor will take your treasurers- your existing furniture, accessories, and artwork and rearrange it to give it that “pulled together” designer look. The end result is a room you love!
Leah Young was born into a family of artists.
To say that she is a self taught artist and decorator is an under statement. Leah has lived art and design her whole life. Her father started out as a high school art teacher and then moved on to designing sets and backdrops for movies, TV and commercials. Her mother was always there to help with the designing and staging of sets. In high school, she decided that she had all the fun she wanted painting and dressing sets. She wanted a life in politics. What else is a child of “liberal” artist parents supposed to do to rebel? She moved to Washington, DC and after three years decided that was enough. She packed her bags and headed home where she met her husband and began a new stage of her life.
Her new life began as a “stay at home mom”. Her friends started coming by her home to visit and saw her hidden talents. Her nurseries were always ones to be envied, with floor to ceiling murals, and all the accessories and bedding to coordinate. She started out painting murals and designing children’s rooms for friends and family. Eventually, others recognized her talents and before she knew what happened…a career was built. Her career has evolved into the design and decorating of every room in the house.
As her career grew, she started to catch the eye of her church family. She has volunteered in many different capacities; decorating and organizing social events, heading social committees, and running a shelter for Hurricane Katrina victims. She also designed the children’s rotation Sunday school rooms and taught and led other volunteers in painting murals and decorating the themed rooms. She was then asked to help with the design and decorating of “House on the Corner”, a church mission ministry. It is a Habitat/Extreme Home Makeover concept. She takes donated items from around the community and is able to make each room a masterpiece. From start to finish it is her vision that turns these houses into beautifully decorated and designed homes for deserving families. Most recently, she was honored when asked if she would chair the Interior Design Committee for a new multimillion dollar church sanctuary. The facility will not only be beautiful but is going for a Silver Award in LEED certification.
Stephanie and Leah work together as a team to create beautiful and functional homes. Call us TODAY at 469-424-1112 for a Consultation.
Testimonials...
“Greg and I just wanted to say thank you again for doing such an INCREDIBLE job on the house. He came home and literally sat in the library for 30 minutes just staring at all the shelves. He loves the room (and so do I of course). The rest of the house looks stunning as well. We can't believe how much more open and inviting it appears now.You have done an amazing job!Mia K.
“Just looked at the invoice. You are a totally amazing shopper! I love the way it turned out. My mom came by this morning, and kept saying, "Did you have that before?" And when I'd say yes, she'd say, "I never noticed it there." I must have good taste, just don't know what to do with it once I've got it! You're awesome! Seriously, that is an amazing talent you have.”Alison K.
“Our house looks so wonderful. We have had many compliments on it!The kitchen looks great - much lighter and brighter. The entry/formal living areas look so spacious.I feel as if now you walk into our home and notice the many nice things about the house itself, instead of walking into the "our house".You have so many creative ideas! The entire experience, was again, a very positive one, and Richard and I want you to know how much we appreciate everything!”Susan V.
